Default LR2: Window sensor problem?

2008 LR2 HSE
New problem started the other day when I use the one-touch feature to roll up the left rear window. It gets all of the way up and then goes back down on its own to about the half way position.

It's almost like it senses an obstruction and goes back to do it's 'safe' position. Most likely it's a sensor that is out of whack. I did go do some light off-roading the other day so maybe something was knocked loose.

Just an FYI or a call to see if anyone has experienced this one yet. I have a service coming up on Sept. so this is on the to-do list.

I have the same problem on a 2008 LR2 rear left window. It started ~ 2 weeks ago. I'm going to clean the window's edge & window track & see if that fixes it.

Try re-setting the windows... roll down one at a time, keep holding down, when it gets to the bottom, release and press one time. Then roll winow up, hold in up position, when it gets to the top, release button then lift it again. Give that a shot, I know it sounds confusing.

I cleaned the tracks on all four windows with a wet towel. Remember the track has three sides:the side edges & top edge, the part of the track that touches the inside of the glass, & the part of the track that touches the outside of the glass. Once cleaned & dry I sprayed the three sides of the track with DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax Lubricant. I bought it @ Lowe's a year ago for $3.99/11oz. Now all the windows work great. To be on the safe side I also did the window re-set similar to what Prodigy999 described. After 26 months & 30k miles of use the window tracks were in need of a good cleaning.

Follow Prodigy999's instructions. This happened to me very early on and I took it to the dealership and I felt so stupid because the service manager just came out and did the window reset maneuver described by Prodigy999 and all was well after that.

I tried to follow the instructions, but when I get to the point where you roll the window all the way up the window goes back down on it's own as I described in my original post.

It is going in for the next scheduled maintenance so it will be taken care of then by the dealer. Thanks for the replies and ideas though.
