I was hoping for something more "boxy", you know, traditional LR styling. It just looks like a slightly edgier(is that a word?) Freelander. I still would consider it if LR wasn't to greedy when it comes to leases. I could buy a LR3 for what they want for a lease payment, even though I would only drive it about 3000 miles a year (I have a company vehicle)

Not bad how much bigger is it? And does it have an independant suspension or is if on a solid axle like the other rovers.

What I'm really interested in is gas milage...

Not that I care much, I'm just curious...but that seems to be playing a stupidly high priority for most people.

Freelander body, changed up a bit. Looks like an accessorized Ford Escape.

Doesn't look half bad though.

I think it looks pretty good, although I didn't mind the way the older Freelanders looked. Would be a nice daily driver... would never try and wheel it though.

When are the new Hippos going on sale in the U.S.? Are they a 2007 model coming late 2006?

It would definitley have to "grow" on me. It looks too generic and uninspiring.]

I'm certain I read that it shares the Volvo XC90 platform. Apart from the grill and grill surround, it looks like a mini RR Sport. I don't think it's too bad. I still like our 2003. If they added a low range to the new one, then half the naysaying curmugeons would have to find something else to bitch about. The other half would keep on dissing it simply because they have to diss something, irrespective of their never having tried one. ( if it isn't what they drive, it's NG)

Just some more info on the LR2. Diesel is said to give 37.7 mpg for the fuel concious.
http://rovering.squarespace.com/jour...elander-2.html

I think the design fits in nicely with the current line up.

ahhh I don't know.. I am sure it'll grow on me but right now.. ehh. The diffs aren't in plain view for once.. That front end though.. yeesh. & those wheels.. wtf? It looks like a light front end fender bender would ruin the entire car. What happened to bumpers on these things? From the back it looks pretty rad though, except for the top hinged rear door (I think). Gold would be the last color on earth for her. Still though.. the combination of a RR sport & a freelander in looks for the most part.. is kinda cool. it's just that suppository looking front..
