Default New LR2 HSE: Several Questions

Hi all,

Heres a picture of the car!

I do have a few questions though...

1) the stock "bass" is pretty horrible to say the least. I know there was a thread about an upgraded radio system and such in the LR2, but I was wondering if anyone has actually upgraded their bass/radio/speakers/amp since then. Anything important that I need to know? I really want a nice powerful bass in the car, but am worried about reading this from a while back...

"LR2 uses digital/fiber-optic system. You can install aftermarket head unit and amp, but DO NOT disconnect OEM faceplate/ display, and do not disconnect factory amp. CD changer can be disconnected. You can try to "hide" the display somewhere inside the dash, but leave it connected to the harness, same for the amp ( if you find it). Then you can tap into speaker wires after they come out from factory amp,and the car "thinks" that OEM system is connected."

Any one have any knowledge on this?

2) Are there any available power chips or performance chips to tweak/tune the LR2's engine. Any good performance upgrades like exhaust systems?

Thanks so much,

-FSB

Nice looking ride. Love the black. Something looks different than my 2008 HSE though. I think it's the front fairing.

Anyway, I'm surprised to hear you say that the stock bass is weak and horrible. It already has a small subwoofer stock so you must really like your bass from an aftermarket tube or box. Careful with too much bass, you're liable to shake something loose! Good luck.

Thanks Scogs,

This car came with what they call the "Performance kit" or style package. It basically includes a body kit, front and back, and twin, stainless steel, tuned exhaust system.

But yes, I like bass a lot. The subwoofer it includes is 6 inches which in comparison to cars these days is pretty small, but it kicks for its size. Im not sure if I have the 440 watt system or the regular, maybe you have the upgraded Premium sound system, I don't know how to find out.

UPDATE:

I talked to a audio technician today, and he took a quick look at my car. He was running low on time, but said it should be easy to set up, despite the audio concerns I had. We are installing a Planet Audio Big Bang subwoofer with a custom box that will fit inline with the groves in the back of the LR2. This bass is crazy, one of the loudest out there. Ill take pics after install and show you all the finished product.
