Default New owner...confused.

I just bought a 2011 LR2 about 2 weeks ago and I'm a bit confused. I was reading through the owner's manual & I can't figure a few things out.

First, the "power folding mirrors". The manual says to push both L & R side mirror selectors simultaneously to fold them in, but when I do, nothing happens. It is a standard feature, correct? I mean...I DO have them?

Second, why is there an "auxiliary" mode on the factory stereo? Is there some hidden input somewhere in the vehicle for an iPod or something? I can't figure out the purpose of an auxiliary audio mode without the ability to plug in an auxiliary source. Of course, the manual is pretty much worthless explaining it's purpose.

Third...the manual shows memory controls for the driver's seat, but mine doesn't have them. Was it a standard feature?

Lastly, is the factory stereo a 6 disc changer? According to the manual it is, but it doesn't give me the option to load more than 1 disc.

I'm actually pretty tech savvy, but I'm lost here. I bought the vehicle used, but it's in amazing condition. It's a base model with the LUX package...has heated seats, Bluetooth, etc. Everything is stock, nothing aftermarket. Only had 10,000 miles & was owned by a LR dealer previously. The car looks great, drives great, and everything that works, works great. Am I missing something?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I have a 2008 LR2 HSE, if your newer one is similar to mine, the AUX input jack should be behind the parking brake. I ended up buying a retractable cord on ebay that will make using that feature easier.
I also have the 6 disc changer. While in CD mode, just push any number from 1-6 on your keypad. It will move to that disc and if empty, prompt you for a disc.
Sorry I cant help you with the mirrors or the memory seat (which I do have, but dont want my wife driving my car so I dont have to worry about someone moving my seat around ).

Hope this helped some!

Thanks. I think I found the aux input (interesting place for it). As for the 6 disc...I tried that. It doesn't prompt me for another disc. It also doesn't show empty slots on the display like it does in the manual...just a 1 when I put in a disc. When I hit any other number, nothing happens.

Plain and simple, your vehicle doesn't have the features your asking about. No manufacturer has an owner's manual that covers just the features on your particular vehicle. Given the amount of options, there would be a ton of different manuals. Therefore, they print one that covers every option offered on their vehicle. It is up to you to know what features you have and which ones you don't.

Memory seats are not standard. Obviously a 6-disc CD changer isn't standard either, as are power folding mirrors.

Yes, I considered that possibility. But I also considered there was a possibility that it may not be that obvious. My last vehicle had an update for something else that coincidentally made the folding mirrors stop working. They could be fixed by resetting the power windows with a crazy button pushing sequence. I thought that a forum for other owners would be a good place to look for answers. There are "standard" features that all cars come with, and I wanted to be sure that the things I'm missing weren't " standard". I'd be kicking myself if I found out a year from now that there was a factory reset for the stereo (or something) that would fix the problem, but I never looked into it. I realize that I do not have the memory seats, as the buttons for the memory don't exist, but my other issues aren't so obvious.

The aux input is in a weird place in the 2010 LR2. But it sounds like you found it. If you have the 6 disc radio you will see 6 dots when you are in FM mode. They will either be solid if there are discs in there or empty if the slots are empty.
