For those prices, you could get a "real" bar with skid plates and sliders (I happen to make them)... if you just want the look, shop all the usual places- it's best to call to see if it's in stock and in case it's not listed on the web sites.

i hope you got a decent warrantee out of it.
Cause those aframe bars and other add ons will be for nothing when heater cores and other stuff starts to break. Not to mention the three grand for the timing belt at 72k, |

Might want to consider having someone other than the dealer do the belts at those prices... but what's the a-bar etc have to do with heater cores?

unless an experienced tech has the ability to do it that is well versed in how a freelander is set up trust me they wont touch it.
The shop will end up losing time. Not to mention all the stuff that will eventually break on those. And I can tell you everything on those is plastic. All the PCV hoses break. of course thats from PCV pressure and a broken hose is good thing. Otherwise the pressure builds on the cam seal when it is cold. it blows out on the highway. of course then it turns on the check engine lite if it goes to long. Funniest thing about those engines they dont ever throw a plug or coil. They do however blow thousand dollar intakes and PCV hoses that make misfire codes. If you are not familar with them you can get butt kicked but once you work on them diagnosing CEL lites is a breeze. |
