Default noisy......?

Hi Can Anyone Help I Have A Freelander 1.8 98s Just Bought It Its Got 100,000 On Clock The Car Drives Brilliant But It Seems Noisy When Driving It Makes A Drumming Noise Just Like A Wheel Bearing >fixed Temp Sender Cheer Guys

Check that the drive line viscous coupling has not frozen up - 98/99 models do this - could be causing transmission windup causing load on IRD and Diff bearings - a frozen VC (expensive) will cause the IRD and/or the Diff to fail - very, very expensive.

If VC is OK - check universal joints and bearings in the propellor shaft.
