Default Noisy Rear Seats

Having a really annoying problem with my 04 Freelander SE V6... There is a terrible vibration coming from the folding rear seats whenever I drive on rough roads, or off-road. Anybody have any idea on how to fix this, as it's driving me crazy.

Does this happen when the seats are upright, or folded, or in both positions? With or without passengers in the seats?

It happens in all the mentioned situations... Upright, folded, with and without passengers. It however seems to be more pronounced with passengers in the rear seat. Any ideas or suggestions on how to solve this would very much appreciated.

Have someone drive you around while you try to pinpoint the location.

I had a squeak which turned out to be the plastic that went over the wheel well needing to have a screw tightened a half turn. It drove me nuts till I found it. I had a buddy drive around while I was listening in the back until I located the offending piece.

Will try that out, however I'm pretty certain that the noise is coming from the seats themselves. Just in case it is the seats, any suggestions on what I can do about it.

Check for loose screws and bolts, lube the hinges and latches on the seat backs, releases and bases, check the base supports underneath for anything loose, seatbelt mounts, etc. I'm not sure what else to suggest without sorting out where the noise is coming from exactly or what type of sound it is.

I had the same issue. Just spray some silicon spray on hinges, etc. Should fix the issue.
