Angry Problem with 2008 LR2 GPS

A lot of my maps were out of date. I called my dealer who advised me to to call Navtech myself and order new discs to avoid the mark up. I did.. $200 - not cheap ! So I accessed the DVD drive inder the passenger seat, opened the box from Navtech, hit the unlock button and the eject button on the DVD drive. Out popped a disc.. Great, easy I thought. The box had two discs, and only one came out.. Hmmmm. odd I thought.. I put in the first one from the box and the screen said updating software.. OK. I said OK.. Nothing.. then the system kept re-cycling on and off for the next ten minutes.. I looked at the other disc in the box and saw that my State was on there. OK, I said.. It had no idea where it was.. so I ejected the Western States DVD (I really wish someone would have told me that there were two DVD's) and nothing.. the system was locked up. I called Navtech.. They told me that tech support should come from my dealer. OK.. I drove around the corner to the dealer.. They had never seen anything like it. "Looks like the system tried to load in a software update and got hung up".. OK I said, fix it.. But you were doing tis yourself.. we can't provide warranty servce for that..." Huh?!! I called you first and you told me to go directly to Navtech.. Hmm.. they said .. we don't know about that.. So now I have a service visit scheduled to hopefully fix the unit. Interesting. the disc that came with the 2008 vehicle was a 2006 version. No wonder my maps were out of date !.. Just my luck.. !

You need to call Land Rover North America and tell them what is going on....the dealer will fix it.
