Default question about freelander mpg

i drive a 1995 classic LWB, that prefers premium fuel and averages 12 mpg.

fuel cost is killing me, so i am thinking about down sizing.

what grade of gas does the freelander use, and what is expected mpg?

dont bother with a freelander,

you cant afford the parts and maintenance.

and the fact it breaks in a really really bad way.

I just sold my 2003 FL SE3. In 46,000 miles, I only had two unscheduled trips to the dealer: a idiot light, and a leaky coolant resevoir, both fixed under warranty and I caught both early enough that I didn't have any issues.

The FL runs on regular, and I would ROUTINELY get 19-21 mpg around town, 23-24 mpg on the highway. I'd even see 22-23 mpg on the highway w/ windsurfing boards and bikes on the roof rack.

I just bought a LR2 a few weeks ago. Been getting about 19 mpg on premium around town, I hear mid 20's on the highway is typical. i'm pretty pysched considering I only have about 600 miles on the engine so she's not even broken in yet!

Default Mpg

Hi, I lhave a Td4 02 Freelander Diesel & get 8 ltrs per 100k on average, town & country driving, about 32 mpg, I have done 92000 k only replacing belts, front rotors & pads, it does beach work & tows a caravan, overall it has been a good vehicle, I like the new model. Diesel is the way to go.

Can't get the diesels in the USA.

I've got an 05 and I deleted the rear muffler and added a 2" lift from DAP Inc.

City I've been getting about 16-17 city and highway is anywhere between 19-24

The reason it ranges from 19-24 is because I live in Texas and for daytime driving on I-10 I get no less than 19, sometimes 21 depending on wind, and 24 at night time because the speedlimit slows from 80 to 65. I normally speed during the daytime so I was getting 19 at 90-95 mph.
