Default Sport Mode

Drove around with the trans in sport mode and without maunally shifting. The car seemed to have better throttle response. Anyone else notice this?

Never noticed it, but I'll try tomorrow. Right now, my acceleration is terrible because the spark plugs are fried. (The dealership wants $200 for just installation, so I'm not sure what to do.)

that's because the Sport mode - will hang on to the lower gear for a longer length of time, hence the sporty feel to it.

then to take it a step further you can shift - so there are three modes - normal auto, sport auto, manual shift mode.

enjoy !

I prefer normal auto - as I don;t liek to race the engine too much - afterall it is a truck, not a sportscar.

I'm aware of the 3 modes, which is I stated I did not manually shift. It just seems the overall throttle response is better even when cruising around 50mph and you you accelerate w/o downshifting. Pretty neat.

Default Owners Manual

Helps to read this item :-)
Sport mode applies more drive to the rear wheels and also maintains a little higher rpm improving acceleration.
Pretty cool, definitely a difference in my case and I haven't notice any significant change in gas mileage - mostly in town driving.
