Default Starting Problem

I have a 2002 TD4 ES freelander the problem I have is it runs fine but on slightly cold to cold mornings I notice that when I start up the engine the trip computer goes back to zero, and when it is very cold mornings it clicks as if it is not going to stat then just fires up and the rest of the day I have no problems starting up. I had a check on the battery etc and was told all was fine. I had this problem last autumn and winter then all through the summer I have had no problem at all but now we are into Autumn it is starting again anyone can help me please
