User buying advice on Freelander 2005 SE

Dear Sirs, I have only recently driven a 2005 Freelander SE and was very am also looking at the Jeep Liberty 2005 Limited Diesel but after driving the Freelander I really enjoyed the ride. My main concern is the information on the net about the realiability of Rangerover Freelanders. I have not read much about about the 2004 model Freelander but I will be honest I am no mechanic. I currently drive a BMW 325 XI and have had excellent luck with no problems.

I like very much the Freelander model and I tested one with all the bells and whistles and the price is good. What I do not want is to own a vehicle that will keep me in the shop. Had this experience in my college days in the US with Fiat. So if any of you kind people good provide me with some personal experiences and some advice I would be most grateful.

I didn't see too many posts in the freelander forum here, but you might want to check out a site like freelanderliving.com to get a take on repair frequency and cost.
