Default Water dripping from under the car?

Don’t know if this is related to the hot weather 

As a rule I don’t use the air-conditioning, although I do know it works.

Over the past month I have noticed that after I have used the car there is a sizable patch of water under the rear part of the engine.

I regularly check the fluid level and they are all OK.

The water appears to be dripping from a 3inch hose half way across the back of the engine mount back plate ( just below the steering rack).

Is this normal

Yup quite normal AFAIK. IIRC the water that drips on the floor is condensation that drips from a drainage pipe. You'll see the puddle under most A/C equiped vehicles!

No it will not happen when the A/C is off (but see comment below) - it is an A/C thing. Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air so the moisture in the warm air condenses out as water when it is cooled by the A/C - the water pools at the bottom of the A/C housing then runs out through pipes onto the ground - happens the whole time the A/C is on but continues to run out for a while when the car is stopped until the water runs out. If the pipes block with dirt the water can flow back into the car causing wet carpets and later rust - pipes are easily cleared from underneath with a blast of compressed air.

You don't have a problem - it is normal.

Remember that the a/c is activated when you are using the demister functions in order to remove moisture from the air. As a result this can happen all year around, and not just when you have switched the a/c on.

Cheers
