Default Window rolldown with key FOB?

Saw on another LR2/Freelander2 site (freel2.com) that in the UK they can automatically roll down their windows by pressing and holding the unlock button on the key FOB. Anyone heard of this working on US models?

I don't know about the LR2 as mine is the previous generation. However, my US Spec 2005 Freelander SE rolls the rear tailgate window down when pressing and holding the unlock button on the key FOB. I would imagine that feature or similar features would pass on to the next generation US cars.

I did a quick search but didn't find any relevant information on the Key FOB features/functions.

Have you tried it? What happens?

Default Found the answer on TOPIx website.

Well that site is worthless for the LR2.

LR2's aren't listed. However, you can go to the TOPIx website and register with your VIN and buy a day, week, month, etc subscription to the technical manuals for your vehicle for a few bucks.
TOPIx Land Rover Home

I'm subscribed for a week right now because I'm doing a lighting project on my 2008 LR2 this weekend, which I'll post later. Been mad saving some .pdf's for sure!

This is what the technical manual section on the anti-theft features says:

""Global Open/Close
The global open/close feature allows the user to fully raise/lower the windows with a single press of a remote handset
button. The button must be pressed and held for more than 2 seconds. Either or both global open/close functions can
be disabled using a Land Rover approved diagnostic system.
NOTE: Remote global close is not available in certain markets, North American Specification (NAS) for example.""

There's your answer.

Doug
