Default Some not-very-impressive 101 pictures

A friend (and fellow Land Rover fanatic) got bored with his Defender 110 County's reliability, comfort and economy, and decided a 101 would be a laugh.

The result was this 1976 GS in totally original military spec (right down to the rifle holder on the dashboard and the under-floor jerry can holders).

Sorry the pictures aren't very exciting- they were taken on a rather tame greenlane, and since the 101 takes up the entire width of the track (plus a few more inches!) taking close-ups was not easy!

Well, it keeps the section ticking over!

We never had the 101 in south africa.
The Army imported a lot of 109 Forward controls for ambulances / radio controls artallery controls ect.

Looks like a fine truck

Every time I see these green laning pictures it makes me SOOO jealous!! I wish we had something like that here in California.. I would LOVE to do that, looks totally damage free and is just the kind of off-roading I prefer.

sigh..

Serg, I am assuming by "damage free" you are talking about your truck. If so, try the Alleghany Trail next spring with us. Really easy, couple of so-so "challenging" parts to make it a little bit exciting. But overall, a picture friendly trail. Maybe a 2 with the Rubicon being a 10.

Now if you mean undamaged wilderness...I agree with you. Not enough of that to go around.

Man, I would love to have a 101 to tool around town in. To see the looks on little kid's faces would be worth the gas prices!
