Default 1984 Defender 110 300 Tdi

Hi all! This is a great truck at a great price. Asking $30000 I have tons of digital pics, so email or post your address and I'll email them along with any details.

Located in Georgia, less than 10,000 miles on new 300 Tdi engine, R380 5-speed transmission, and LT230 transfer case. New brake pads and hub seals, new drive shafts and rear pinion flange/seal. Original diffs, axles and axle assemblies front and rear. Updated interior with genuine LR logo upholstery, new door trim and door handles, interior completely Rhino-Lined. Original headliner in great shape, all new door seals, removeable door tops, snorkel, Terrain Master front bumper (no winch), sliders, OME HD springs and shocks, 235 85 R16 mud terrains. Great shape, at a great price. Email for additional pictures and full details on the build

Why do you say that, Steve? There are plenty of gray market 110s that were brought in under the old gray market rule, prior to the change from 5 years to 25 years. (1990 or 1991, I think)

That's true- most came in afterwards though. As long as all the docs are in order and pre-date the rule change. It's getting hard to find stuff with clear docs. I've recently seen several coming up for sale with fake dates on the docs etc. and then of course is the ol vin swap stuff.
That one really looks newer than an 84 for several reasons.

I don't see a single thing that says it's newer. New parts don't make an old truck new.
Door handles, galvy door trim, and front doors says it's no newer than '85. RF fender deffinately pre-Tdi (no recess for side vent)
Old style steering wheel too. I don't see much else that wouldn't be the same as newer.
$30K is alot for one that old. Their frames are on borrowed time unless they were always in a dry climate. If a guy were going to try and pull a vin or paperwork switch, why pick a year that still isn't at least 25 years old.
Nope, gotta believe it is what it says it is.

Because there are no 25 y/o 110s. Production began in 1983. [maybe there are a few military where titles are a little vague]

Good point, but I was being rhetorical. What I meant was, picking a 25 or older year , and calling it a rebuilt s3, as many do. But, as I said before, I don't see or read into what the seller said to not believe it's an '84. Plenty were brought over in 89 and 90. There was a German company that specialized in exporting 450SL, 90s and 110s
Even so, $30K for a gray market pre Defender is alot. Hell, I might think seriously if somone offered me that for mine, and mines a '93 NAS

That is a sweet truck. I'm just always a little cautious when a person's first post on an enthusiast web site is to sell something. Especially something that is $30,000.

I just wonder why someone who apparently has a thing for Rovers (since they went through the trouble building this truck) has never been on the board before.

But I'm just a naturally suspicious person, so pay no attention to me
