Ahh yes but shortly I'll be in a land where I can find a defender in the same vintage as your g wagon for around 3-5k with a diesel
Actually I own both a Land Rover and a Mercedes both SUV's. I meant it when I said I like G-Wagons, if I wanted a truck with wall to wall leather power everything and all the off-road capability I would just buy a RRC kit it out and still have 15k in the bank. I like the defender for it's simplicity and its ease of repair.

You could get a defender for this sort of money, but then again you wouldn't have front and rear lockers, turbo diesel reliability, 6.17 gears, a 3.5" lift, rocksliders, leather power reclining reacaros.
I'd say this G takes the cake for the price over any stock defender, especially since it is turbo diesel, something you can't really get in a Defender here.
Final thought - does the V8 get 20mpg? Or run reliably on waste vegetable oil?
I know your partial to the Defender - I think they look great, almost would say I'd buy one too, but there are a lot of things that just aren't there.
A friendly debate is welcome. I have tons of respect for the Defender. You and I are in a different class altogether from the Jeeps, Suzukis, Tacos, FJ's...etc that are found on the trail.
I love your truck. Good luck with the sale.
