Here goes; Chamonix white 1990 Classic located in Brooklyn NY.
Over 8k invested over the past year so that just about all of the common rover currently problems aren't an issue. RUST-The underbody has been professionally waxoyled even though there really wasn't any rust to begin with. The upper tailgate is pretty new and is 95 % rust free. The insides of door sills and wheel arches are also 95% rust free. Same with the floors under the carpets in footbeds and in the rear cargo area. This was a cali car for a good portion of its life before it came to east coast and was garaged so rust is extremely minimal. The only rust I could find is very small of surface starting on lower tail-gate where it touches bumper, but this too, is minimal. LEAKS- If it is left for a week in one spot there might be a couple drops of oil, but it is one of the most leak-free rovers I have ever seen. Leaks have never been a problem. COSMETICS- interior has been covered with sheepskin for duration of its existence so the leather is in amazing condition with no cracks at all on seats. Is a p.i.a. to remove the sheepskin and get it back on right so I don't have pictures, but if I have serious interest, I will remove and photograph. The sheepskin is not there to hide any defects, I just keep it on to preserve the leather (which I always conditioned as did previous owner). The only slight wear is in armrests which weren't covered but again, are in great shape overall. Headliner is new, no sags, new floormats, dash, console, panels are conservatively 8 out of 10. A crack in plastic seatbelt holder, and some cracking in small plastic panel that cover wires below drivers seat. Two small chips in windshield which I sealed with a "windshield fixing" solution. Stock stereo with tape deck. Removeable fiberglass cargo insert in cargo area is a bit chewed up but is easy to clean. The interior is in great shape with minor wear. exterior- some small parking lot dings . About 5 or 6 total. Very very minimal. Hard to photograph. Some tiny rock chips on front of hood. Paint is about 8 out of 10. Not mint but really good shape. There is one silver dollar-size spot where it has peeled off below drivers side door. I have photos of this. The front brush bar is the only thing that is pretty corroded but that is an accessory not structural. BRAND NEW (1 month) Brownchurch roof rack. Tires are michelins with less than 4 k on them. Never off-roaded. MECHANICS- runs great, has been very reliable. I bought it to commute from New York to D.C. occasional weekend trips, and various road gigs that my work entails. It always got me there and back in any kind of weather. It cruises at 85 comfortably (although since the addition of roof-rack there is a bit of wind-noise at that speed). There really isn't much to say here other than that. It does what it is supposed to do. Always changed oil, only used ultra unleaded. Brakes are great. It's a solid 3.9. MISCELLANEOUS- It's a 1990 so no air suspension and I just put new old man emus with a 2 inch lift to replace bilstiens (about a month ago) which looks and feels just right. ELECTRICS- The only thing that I can think of that I haven't fixed is cruise control. Sunroof works. Seat switches work. Mirrors work. NO warning lights that stay on. Stereo is pretty basic however, not incredible sound. What else can I say? No accidents. I have the title. Extra keys. Original owners manual. All receipts of the work I have had done and bunch of p.o.'s. I spared NO expense on this truck and it has been good to me. Why am I selling? I would like to get an lwb at some point but having a rover and saving money just don't go hand in hand. So rather than invest more as the inevitable maintenance issues arise, I'd like to recoup some of my funds and wait until I find the right lwb. My price is $4400. Of course you can find cheaper ones, but they will probably have the issues that I have addressed on this one. I think that's very fair for a low mile classic in such good shape with so much invested into it. If I were me, I'd buy it. I have had trouble posting pictures. PM me if you are interested and I'll send you pix. I just put it on autotrader with about 18 pix, but don't know how to put link to ad on here. Sorry about my lack of computer-savy-ness. I really enjoy this site and hope this rover goes to an enthusiast who loves these things as much as I do. PM me if I can answer any other questions. |

I didn't mean that to come off as a parts vulture lol. I was just curious. I'm just starting to look around for one now or I'm going to build my own.
That's a great looking Rover best of luck with the sale ![]()

Looking at the cost of it I think I'd be better off building one pricing the steel it would be a whole lot cheaper maybe not as nice in the end though lol

Hey Benny, good luck with the sale. I have seen that truck and know the people who have worked on it. I can vouch for the fact that it is one very clean Range Rover and will give someone a lot of joy.
Bill, I have a Brownchurch that I could be talked out of for the right price! |

I might take you up on that Bill. I emailed him for more pics and Allison and I are trying to figure out how to put some money together - as you know I am selling the other rover - and this looks like the kind of truck that we could take a honeymoon in.
