I am selling my 1996 Discovery 1. I have the car fax on it showing it lived between Arizona and Florida all its life till basicly I got it. I have put a good matching set of Michelin Cross Terrian tires on it, New front shocks, new plugs and wires and a new fuel pump. Body and chassis is rust free, frame and undercarriage look to only be a few years old compared to what most rust belt vehicles look like. Exhaust looks to have been recently replaced as well as both cats and O2 sensors. Color is white with tan leather interior, new Kenwood CD player in the dash, all the power seats work and the front sunroof works good, has the wiring for pulling a trailer. OK now the bad, rear sunroof nolonger works but is down and seems to seal ok. Both rear windows do not work, probably the ECU for them, I have been chasing an intermitten stumble/missfire but being a two car family, I cannot afford the down time or the high cost of parts. I love my Rover and hate to sell it, but its just not the right time for a vehicle like this for us. I have just over 6200 invested into it, I am hoping to get something close. Please feel free to make me an offer or call to come and see the rover. The rover is located in Fairview, PA, right next to Erie. Thanks Mike T 814-474-1496 or daytime cell 814-397-2674

More info, this is a SE7 with the jump seats. All the windows are tinted, tint is in decent condition but should be redone if you want it perfect. All in all a very nice Discovery for the year and milage. The cleanliness has to be seen to understand just how clean it is, espicaly underneath. transfer case shifts into lock and low range fine as well. I realize I wont get what I have into it with it not running perfectly. Make me a reasonable offer and we can go from there. I need to move this fast to get a replacement as I am driving my wife's vehicle right now. Thanks Mike

Mike, I'd suggest you get the truck running properly. That will cost you a lot less than the hit you're going to take by selling it. Youve only had it a month. Realistically, medium high milage 96 D1s only bring in the the $2500 range today.

It has brand new Champions from Autozone in it. None of that bosch crap in the rover from what I have read about them. I think if a MAF problem with the over rich running its doing. Just waiting on Will T to email me how to pay him. Paul was my first choice, but doesnt have what I need right now. Thanks Mike

Price drop to 4K, suspecting stuck valves, over my head to pull the heads and we dont really have the funds to pay for a shop to do the work. This IS one of the cleanest D1's you will find in the rust belt. I just need a cheaper and easier to maintain 4x4 to replace it right now. Cannot afford the maintance or the down time right now. Guess its back to a nice old CJ jeep. Mike

Mike:
Just my 2 cents of help. I don't know if you've done this already, but buy a can of seafoam from your local auto parts store and run it on your Disco. There are multiple topics on how to do it among these forum. Thanks, Carlos |

Been seafoaming it, She is still for sale as I just cant keep up with the fuel demands, pemimum plus putting over 100 miles on it a week just going to work. I have it out by the road with a sign on it and am looking for an older vw to use as a work beater. Keeping it as a weekend fun machine isnt an option unfortunatly. What I need is an old series 2.25 diesel beater to drive to work! Price is still 4k to the folks here on the forum, and thats a major loss to me at that price. The local shop that took a glance at it feels its in electrical issue and not internal motor issues. I just dont have the funds to get it into a rover shop and keep feeding its fuel needs to get me to work. She is super clean and has to be seen to be appreciated. Someone please give her a good home. Mike
