Default 1997 Discovery XD

1997 Land Rover
Discovery XD

Limited Edition #40 of only 250
built

$11,495 or best
reasonable offer

This is a very rare 1997 Disovery. Only 250 Discovery
XD models were built in 1997. hand built by Land Rover Special Vehicles, #40 of 250 built. What makes this one even better is that it has
the rare Event Decal Package kit professionally applied. The 3 prior owners were all Land Rover fanatics as well. Always fanatically services. You'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner, better maintained Discovery XD around! The XD has 116k miles on it. You'd never know that looking/driving it. It drives like new! The paint is super glossy with no dents, and only a couple tiny dings. Never been in an accident, clean CarFax. Never abused or carelessly offroaded. Never smoked in. Rear seat hardly ever used. Every single feature on this great Land Rover works perfectly. A/C blows cold. Most people assume this is a new Land Rover when they see it. I get waves and thumbs up from people all the time. Kids love the look of this thing! I have only put 4,000 careful miles on this XD. I am selling it as I miss my Range Rover Classic and want to go back to that model.

4.0 liter 182 HP aluminum V8. Transmission shifts smooth. Runs awesome, pulls strong and gets around 15 MPG. Freshly installed K&N air filter. All water and oil hoses replaced within last 3 months. Radiator flushed. No oil leaks!! No body or frame rust. A few spare parts
included.

The 1997 Limited Edition Discovery XD had all the
standard features of other Discovery models: A/C, AM/FM Cassette stereo with 6
disc CD Changer, multi speakers with subwoofer. Power door locks, mirrors and
windows. Remote control entry/alarm system. Headlight washers. Trailer hitch
receiver with wiring harness. Hi/Lo range gear box with Center Diff Lock
option. Shifts in and out of Hi/Lo with no problems. I have the original window
sticker, brochures, owner's manual, as well as info on service and more form
the prior owners. Interior is near perfect, the seats have NEVER been sat on
without the waterproof covers being on ad thus the seats are in perfect brand
new shape under the covers. This is one WELL CARED for XD!!

Special XD Equipment
  • AA yellow exterior with black hood and black
    exterior trim
  • Black "Castor" alloy wheels
  • Safety Devices Safari Roof Rack
  • Wrap around brush guards
  • Land Rover Driving Lights
  • Rear Light Guards
  • Engine Protection plate (skid plate, very
    beefy!)
  • Rear Door Ladder
  • Custom XD Spare tire cover
  • Beige cloth interior with customized XD waterproof
seat covers (seats have never been sat on without the covers on them and look
    like brand new!)
  • Rubber Floor mats (standard mats included as
    well)
  • XD Nomenclature and graphics
  • Event Decal package
Further upgrades:
  • Old Man Emu medium duty springs and shocks, 2"
    lift
  • Old Man Emu steering stabilizer
  • Trailer brake controller
  • Custom fit Covercraft Evolution all weather car
    cover with cable and lock
The previous owner had the whole truck prepped and
then the Event Decal package applied. It is showing no signs of wear. I just
had is serviced at West Coast British, one of THE best and most knowledgeable
LR mechanics in the US, and it needs NOTHING... other than a new owner. I am
asking $11,495, but I will entertain all reasonable offers. You could find a
1997 Discovery XD for less, but keep in mind that there were only 250 of these
made, and most XD's are beaten, extensively modified off road rigs. This one
has had an easy life and the only reason I am selling it is that I miss my
Range Rover Classic and want to switch back.
Shipping can be arranged. Located in San Jose, California.

Below are more pics showing the quality of the interior and exterior.

I just liked the Classic better overall. Gonna get me another LWB once I sell the XD. I tend to trade my cars around a lot..

I am looking for a Renault R5 Turbo or a clean Ferrari 308 GT4, no more M3's.

Hey, fellas, I can vouch for this vehicle. While I haven't driven it, I've seen it firsthand. It's the sh*t!

There is a guy willing to give me 6700$ for my rover. I would pay you 6700$ out of the 12500$ you are asking for yours and slowly pay off the rest.
But, I cant, I am getting too attached to mine. Just wanted to try.

At $150 a month, it would take you a LONG time to pay it off. Of course I would retain posession until you paid it off... don't think this will work...

Serg that XD is INCREDIBLE! I love it! So much I called my lender, however they will only go up to 8k on it.

What shape are the tires in? I have read the post a few times but I am not seeing any mention to the tires. Thank you in advance.
