Hello Everyone,
I’ve decided to sell my ’68 IIA “Station Wagon.” Here’re the details: Owned since ’97 and have all records for work completed since purchased: New Galvanized Metal Chassis Refurbished, military grade, bulkhead New Suspension New Brake Lines New Wiring Harness New Starter New Alternator (upgrade from generator) Re-Upholstered Front and Rear Seats Complete repaint in original color New Exhaust System New Carburetor New Points, plugs and condenser New Valve Cover Gaskets, F/R Crank Case Seals & Oil Pan Gaskets The engine, transmission and all running gear have been maintained and function well. The car starts without trouble, idles smoothly and has excellent brakes. Low and high range 4-Wheel Drive engage perfectly along with the locking hubs. To my knowledge, neither the engine nor running gear has been rebuilt. Body panels were not straightened, but there are no glaring deficiencies. This is not “show-car” quality, but looks great and attracts a lot of positive attention. However, the following could be fixed: There are two pen-sized holes (but no rust) outside, under the passenger door hinge on the bulkhead. We noticed these after we bead blasted the bulkhead for the re-paint. There are no other holes or rust in the bulkhead. There is minor oxidation in the bottom of the door frames (fronts only / the rear door is perfect). There is oxidation in the bottom of the window frames (fronts only). New tires will be necessary. The car is reliable and doesn’t leak (yes, there is oil in the pan). I have the shop manuals and other things that I’ve purchased, but not yet installed: New weather stripping, etc. I now occasionally drive her on the weekends, but have other interests (no garage space). Would like to sell to another enthusiast that will enjoy the car and use it more often. I’m asking $12,000 (was $14,000). I’d be happy to send detailed pictures and answer any questions. By the way, I have the full rear door (in perfect shape w/ glass), it's off in the pics because I had been driving as a convertible. I also have the rear Land Rover badges, which were removed for the paint job. Cheers, Chip- Miami Chip.Eggleton@Gmail.com PS- Thanks to JC (The Blue Marlin), who spotted my car origninally and posted some pics on this site. Sorry not to reply, wasn't a member then. |

Hi JC. Sorry to hear you're leaving Miami. I'd like to get another Rover in the future, but I only have a 1 car garage now. Brutal during hurricane season. I've lost 2 windshields already. Damn coconuts and roof tiles!
Hate to admit it on this board, but I have a '97 Land Cruiser with 285x75x16s and locking diffs. Steve (Safari Rover) says I can attend Rover Club events in the Cruiser. Maybe I can be an adopted member of the community if I sell the IIa. Hope to see you on the trails! |
