When I saw the photos I was thinking, "Someone got too close to their meth lab"

this is a copy of the original post, i dont know if the thread is still up but this is a first hand description of what happened a few weeks back.

this happened in oregon. basic cliff notes. Guys know property owner, have permission to wheel the year before. turns out property gets sold to some nut job. the trucks hear warning shots and stop. The owner walks up to one Sammy and unloaded 4 shells at the passenger, only 1 makes its mark but blows the guys arm off. police, EMTs arrive. more pics inside the thread. here is the copy and post of the original post incase it gets deleted.

I guess you can have a bad day wheeling. - Zukikrawlers
-----------------------------------------------------------------

"The day started off fine. Within the last week, 3 of us in our group had changed tires out and we were ancy to try the rigs out on the rugged terrain.

There are a couple moutains about 30 miles away from where we live that we only get to visit twice a year it seems, but it's worth the trip... Most of the time.

Curtis (oregonboy) is riding with my dad, and I had another guy in my rig, and I think Curtis got some good footage of the day.

We were about an hour into wheeling and went down a claim I knew was not a good place to go. I was in the rear of 6 rigs and backed up first; I noticed the owner of the claim stomping in, yelling at the 3 guys who already went past the guys "camp".

Rewind. The trail leader (Don is about 78 or so, but the best driver I know) had been there a year before, and the previous owner of this Federal Claim told Don that he can play around on this little area all he wants, but Don hadn't been back since last year, and there has been another person who took over the claim, and I guess he didn't want anyone there! The new guy is a nut-case whacko and he's never gonna see light again.

The road they went down had a claim sign half hidden behind a bush, and not posted at all, plus he didn't have any "No Trespassing" signs out ANYWHERE. I shut my rig off along with the 3 other rigs who backed back up with me. We heard a gunshot, a warning shot, and he yelled at the driver of the Jeep who was following my dad, that he needed to back up and get out. Don and my dad (and Curtis) were already heading through, oblivious to anything going on behind them.

The claim guy told the Jeep owner to get out, and he was saying they didn't have the right to say it was their land (which he is right) and he wasn't leaving his friends out in the woods (he's got a big Jeep which is built right with good quality stuff... Not the typical Jeep or attitude), and which he proceeded to follow my dad.

They went about 100 feet into the woods (I guess the guy had mines he was afraid would be caved in, again, crazy) and the Jeep owner passenger decides he wants to walk up to where Don is, and my dad and Curtis weren't there yet, so the passenger gets up to Don and find the owner of the claim yelling again, but the passenger walks up to the guy to try to tell him he is not in the right here, but he doesn't make it up to him...

Don was telling us how this happened, and it's not good.

Don said the guy told the passenger "You don't think I'm serious?" lifts the gun as if a bayonetta was attached to his 12 gauge shotgun and he was stabbing someone, then BOOM...

I heard 4 gun shots from where we were at, but luckily only one did any damage.

Don raced up the road with the passenger in his rig and stopped at the top where we were staying. I see the passenger bobbing and not looking too good, then Don gets out and opens the door revealing the passengers "severed" arm, and this is what the passenger says...
"The SOB blew my arm off! I need a tourniquet!! I'm going under......."

My passenger had a belt which he gladly gave up to save the guys life... He probably would have bled out really fast because the only thing holding his arm on was that major artery and some muscle.

No one deserves to have their arm blown off when it's supposed to be a damn good day of wheeling. That's all I'm gonna say now. I'll get some pics of the rig and police rigs."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is some crazy shit.

And people wonder why I (legally) carry a concealed weapon. That POS with the shotgun would've thought twice with a big ol' .45 pointed at him (after he made the first move). The last thing I ever want to do is escalate a situation, but my God sometimes you have no choice.

Wow, you have to be careful where you wheel around here too. I know of more than one who has ended up with a gun pointed in there face by a biker who has crops around.

Yeah...but in today's world you had better learn to pay attention to your surroundings...otherwise VERY BAD things will happen to you or your loved ones. When was a kid I used to be gone from sunrise to sundown and my parents didn't have a clue where I was...There is NOT A CHANCE IN HELL that I'd let my kids do that...it's too bad too, I had A LOT of good times...
