Default Corolla, NC Beach Trip

Went to Corolla, NC (Northern Outter Banks) this past weekend. I didn't lower my PSI and still got around good. Managed to make it up this sand dune while 2 others got stuck! One Four-runner and someone else. All with my Pizza Cutter Tires lol! Not really a truck issue for those guys, more of a 'driver issue'.

Good job! Driving in sugar-sand is definitely a whole other ballgame and the D2 is an excellent vehicle for getting through it.

You're not kidding! I could barely walk in it, much less drive! Oh, to make the drive that much better I left my back window down and blasted the inside with LOTS of sand.

+1 to that. florida's sand is brutal and i've had yet to have a problem with it.

i'd love to drive some big sand dunes one day.

I'm planning a trip to Ocracoke Island later this fall if things work out. The Captain's Landing Hotel has some pretty good prices if you wait and go after the summer months.

If youre ever down around the Carolina Beach area, let me know. I usually camp out on the beach every weekend. We usually have a couple Rovers along.

I'll let you guys know when we'll be up that way. Maybe we can meet up tell some stories and have a few beers (not necessarily in that order).

Ancorage Inn & Marina is pretty good too!

The Anchorage Inn & Marina on beautiful Ocracoke Island, NC

I've been going to OBX for years and just recently found out that the owner is an old college roommate & friend of mine! We used to wheel his Scout thru the mountains by WVU all the time. Got caught up last weekend...good times!

Spend ( couple of weeks ) last summer in Nags head, and after getting bored with Jet Ski, surfing ..and above all FAMILY *LOL*

I did several trips to Corolla , and between the wild horses and getting people unstuck my days flew-by

Great place to learn to drive in the sand ( or have some on your teeth )
