I'm about 2.5 hours north it would all depend on the weather heading down there for me.

thats the thing, where to go.... i know of a few fun places off of rt 49 that is all state land. i ride there on my dual sport in the summer and its all legit as long as your registered and licensed. theres also a few small pits with in 10-15 min of each other. i've been down quite a few times and never had a problem but it is private land... a few big farms around, figure its probably his land.... wimp, that mud pit you have up there looks like the one off 49 on the state land. anything up your way say charlestown/north kingston area? it'd be really fun to get a small group once in a while try some new spots

Keep me in the loop... I have a basic swb Classic, so I definitely won't be the lead.
I'm not at all down for tracking through private land, but I'd imagine there's a ton of open state land in that westerly/ct area. I've found some approved land in the Newport vicinity, however it's nothing very challenging. Wimp... I believe we have crossed paths at my surf shop- I am always game to tag along on any trip |

next weekend (22 or 23rd) all welcome to come... meeting at the regal cinemas parking lot off exit 92.
Regal (Hoyts) Cinemas Stonington 10, 85 Voluntown Rd, Pawcatuck, CT 06379 (860) 599-0400 85 Voluntown Rd, Pawcatuck, CT 06379 Map it | Get directions Cross Streets: Between CT-49 and Alice Ct that will be just all state land/one spot... not promising anything too hard... pretty easy trails a few small water crossings and if you want... a few deep ones too! i havent been down every trail i just know the basics it looks like its about 5 miles from one end to the other (rt49 over to 201) but i've been on my bike and put about 26 miles in on one ride comming across the same trail maybe twice so i know theres a lot out there. some trails are for bikes and quads only, but theres a main trail through out the whole loop.... if you wanna go on the private land i have to keep the group to a max of 4 cars anything more attracts too much attention and takes forever because the trails are much harder. theres also more places to go i know of about three places that are all with in 5 or 10 miles of eachother. Private land ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK... i have NOT gotten permission and dont intend to reason being.. one entrance is blocked ( they dont want you comming in) the other side was blocked a few years ago but has been open ever sense.... so i'm not going to ask and ruin it. I've been going in and out for the past year and have never had anyone say anything to me. and have seen quite a few other cars down there in the past. the private spots i know have some pretty gnarly hill climbs a huge swamp area (scary) if your worried about your paint job these trails are NOT for you as they are tight going in and out but open once your in the pit. other then that i dont want to disapoint anyone so if your thinking about traveling more then 45min or so maybe you want to wait and see what everyone else thinks about the small trip first. sooooooooo sorry for that post being ridiculously long and annoying but i just wanted to planly state I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU/ME/US GET A TICKET/FINE FOR THE PRIVATE LAND i know the state land is fine and legal i've talked with the DEP before while riding my dirtbike out there... wow i wanna go romp something after talking about all that |

I can't the weekend of the 22-23rd the Wife kid dogs Rover and I will be heading to the midwest for family xmas.
On that note the wife informed me that I will not be taking the Rover off roading this weekend she's afraid I'll break it and it's the only vehicle we have that's big enough for the trip west

![]() i circled the "general" area where the trails are and they go in all directions from there... lets all go this weekend on saturday? and we can hit up both places ![]() Last edited by pie4foou : 12-13-2007 at 06:19 PM. Reason: figure out how to post pictures |

You really should join an organized wheeling club. All that State Land is Illegal in CT and trespassing on Private Land is a big no no as well. Look into the East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association and find a club near you. You are screwing things up for the rest of us by pirating trails.

its ten bucks... and i've already joined at the last meeting. and the private land doesnt say "no trespassing" neither does the state land... and i've been "pulled over" on my bike for riding in the state land. all the dep wants is your truck/bike to be registered and you to have an driving licence..... so whats illegal about that? |

now we can all help a little bit. this is a petition to set aside public land for public recreational use they need 50,000 signatures and they have just under 30,000 so send it to anyone in any state... |
