Default A day in the hills

I havent been visiting for a while,my blue classic had so much rust she was taken from me and parted out, well i sold it...Anyway i finally bought a Disco 2 and saturday was her first time off road.
I did a very easy trail on the upper part of Amacalola Falls,i have never wheeled a disco before and her first run was for me to get used to wheeling her.Its not a beater like my classics have been, shes a pretty rover.I have had 2 classics and they wheeled very well. But the ride in the disco was just sweet.
She did very well and next week i will be taking her on the lower trail. The hill assist in 1st gear in low is a treat in itself.I am very pleased with the way she wheeled.
The fog was so heavy it was hard to see 20 feet in front of her.We took a few pics.I hope you enjoy them,They are nothing amazing but i like any pics to do with rovers and dirt

It was weird.Like the beginning of a viking movie or something.Wall of fog.At the top theres a cool camp site. Its the best spot up there besides the one next to the creek that feeds the falls. Its not a hard trail, but its a cool ride.Only a few foot or so rocks and a few steep bits.My truck actually came out cleaner than when we went in due to the constant rain and the water we went through.Fun day for me.

Classic Bluey, I wish i had known you were going would have loved to have tagged along, I almost went to Tiger on Sat but with the rain and stock 18'' and not having a second truck I didn't go. Just driving me crazy to get on a trail again, its been too long. Looks like it was a fun day for you.

When you go through the gate at the entrance take a left going up the hill. When you get to the top of the falls hang a left up the hill. Then take a right at the first rd on the right. You will go past a bunch of cabins, when the rd ends just follow it for a few miles. You will be able to go left or right, dont go right. Its posted rd closed do not enter. You dont want to piss the rangers off,do what they say.
Its an easy trail short and fun.

I want to do the bottom trail this weekend, ive never done it before.I can fly on this trail with one truck but anything else is good to have more people.
So if anyone is up for a run this weekend im sooo ready.I wanna test her in some deep mud.

Let me know. Glad you like the pics,it was a strange foggy day up there.

Do you have Forest Service road numbers? I am headed to North GA with an friend of mine on the 18th and 19th. Plan on hitting the road early/mid afternoon on Friday, hitting a campsite beside the road sometime on the evening of the 18th and riding all day Sat. then headed back to the southside that evening. I would love to know exactly where you went. We are looking for some stuff like that!

Oh, SOLAROS is having a trail ride that w/e in Tellico. I think that might be a bit much for me on my first outing so I'm gonna pass on that one this time.

Tellico hurt my last rangie.Took a big chunk of sheet metal from her.Its been a while since ive been up there,i dont even remember the trail hardly.

I dont have service road numbers but its easy to find.Theres a bunch of campsites up there,we used to drive to the top and camp.Theres a huge fire pit too.Best camp site on the trail.
I wouldnt mind wheeling with you.I need more rovers to wheel with.P.M. me and we will set up a time to meet.Im a working fool right now so having to work might happen this weekend

,but im pretty sure im all caught up.

Default Tellico

I had some scars on my D90 from Tellico before I sold it so I won't be going there until a lift and some protection thats for sure.

Love the tires you put on. Disco's love to have good shoes on their feet. lol. I also havwe a BVLR DII, so it's good to see a group of them running around off-road. I thought the owners were going to cry when I told them I bought mine just for offroading it. lol.

It actually has a road name and street sign at the beginning. Nimblewill Gap Rd.
