it was a spur of the moment trip with Patrick and Bimmershark today. Drove down jane's scenic route. saw a ton of gators, managed to slap one's tail before it shot off into the water because "the mean human scared him". We then drove out into the Picayune strand which quickly turned into a bath for the rover as the "road" which is marked on my GPS quickly turned into door sill deep water with fish and all.
we figured the day was over so we hit some pavement and began to make the long drive back, but before we could make it to civilization we found 2 rattlesnakes crossing the road and a bunch of quail. enjoy the pics.
Your going to get bit by a rattler one day and your hand is going to be royally fucked up. I wouldn't mess with those for "fun."
oh thanks captain obvious.
i know it is only a matter of time before i get bit. if you play with fire, you are gonna get burned. same thing goes for snakes. I'm doing what I love to do. I'd rather die a happy man out in the woods due to a snake bite than live a shitty life in the city.
Fine - I get the smake thing...your truck remained awfully clean! Go get her dirty dude...
AND DONT SWIM WITH STINGRAYS - ok!
lol i drove through water up to my grill for quite a while yesterday, luckily it was clean water and not mucky/muddy shit. trust me the truck got dirty yesterday
caught this little spinytail iguana today on a barrier island, these bastards made it here from mexico and have set up shop on a few west coast FL islands. I'm keeping this one as a pet and hope to use it as a learning tool.
Awesome... there's all kinds of new critters showing up around here too. I've seen a strange lizard (for these parts) for the last couple years. They have a curled tail and are VERY shy. I'll try to get a picture of one - maybe you can identify it for me?

It is a curly tailed lizard. they are native to the bahamas and caribbean. they are insectivorious and are members of iguanidae. they make good pets if you can catch one, i caught alot of them in the Abacos, but they are DAMN fast
if anyone would like to purchase a snake stick, as seen in this thread, I have over 10 available for $20 each!
