getting new LR4, Heavy duty package or not?

Hi,

I"m almost there getting a LR4 and one of the option is the Heavy Duty Package. If someone can help, I want to know what it's for and if i should get it. The Heavy Duty package comes with a full size spare and a rear locking differential. I have Sales from dealers telling me the rear locking differential is for one thing, then another sales tell me it's for a totally different thing, so I wanna see what you guys says. Thanks for your help!

Are you going to be doing a good bit of off-roading?
If yes I'd get it, if no, I'd get it!!!!
It locks your differential so both back wheels get equal power from the tranny. VERY good to have if you are in mud and rock crawling.

that's what i thought. I have several dealers who don't have any LR4's with HD package says that it's only for towing heavy stuff, not for off-roading... hmm.

I would get it. The full size spare is a must. and the rear locking differential is NOT for towing. its for traction. Even if you dont offroad.. its good to have, for example if you get a lot of snow.
