Default How did I not roll over!?

This past weekend took the rover out four wheeling to test out the new tires. I took a route that after I was in the middle of it, I knew was probably a big blunder. I was sure we were going to tip over, especially since my spare was on the roof rack as well as my roof top tent. In the back I had my engel fridge and all our camping bags. Only two passengers up front who were watching their lives flash before their eyes too.

What are the limits of the Disco II? Sometimes I am on an incline that doesn't go just right and feel as if I am going to tip over if I turn sideways. Does anyone have any experiences tipping a Rover?

you were nowhere near tipping over. your truck is almost vertical. have the doors resting on the ground like i've done in the v-ditches before and then come back with "how did it not flop!"

your truck was nowhere near flipping.

if i remember correctly the stock height truck can do 40 degrees--enough to make you shit your pants.

if you're lifted and on larger tires, but have more weight down low (such as winch/bumpers/ sliders/etc) you should still be near that number, maybe a degree or two shy.

i hate side angles, but i have had the truck damn near on it's side like the above post.

I flipped my old 90 onto it's side a few times- you really have to try hard.

In most situations, the vehicle has bigger balls than the driver

haha so true. I remember the first time I was hanging by my seatbelt last summer, the truck was no where near the tipping point, yet it seemed like i was dangling off a cliff edge.

shit the obstacle test drive course at our rover dealership has some pretty sweet side slope action about as extreme as in the picture.

Every time I modify one of my trucks, I go try it on the test course at the Land Rover dealer in town. The side slope that they take customers on with two wheels on the flat; I take with all four wheels on the angle, and even though it makes you think in slow motion, I've never rolled it.
In the past I've rolled my DII twice. Both times onto the drivers side. But considering I was the only one in the vehicle both times, I just chalk it up to being too fat. LOL! It takes a lot to put a Disco on it's side.

you rolled it? i think you mean you laid it on its side...

lol this thread is confusing the phrases "rolling over" and "laying down on its side"
