Making a Hybrid ( 1997 Land Rover Discovery Newbie)
So im thinking on making half off-roading machine , and half Daily driver. I've seen some rovers with extended wheel wells ( the thicker ones i guess). Where could i find these, also who makes the best lift kits for my 1997 Land Rover Discovery ?

Welcome to the site and to rovers. Before you start modding your truck, take it wheelin' and learn what you need... it really depends on where you live and the terrain you wheel as to what is most important. Try to find some local roverheads to guide you along.. the #1 thing that a stock rover should upgrade is tires... and if you want to go slightly larger with tires (larger tires offer more clearance), then you'd want a lift. From your picture, it looks like you have a D1... I'd recommend a 2" OME or RTE lift (Rovertym Engineering) and 31/32" tires... probably all terrains if you are looking for having it as a daily driver also... also make sure your CDL (center diff lock.. the lever in front of your trans shifter) works properly... with a good set of tires and CDL, you have a lot of capability. Good luck and just read the forums, you'll learn everything you need to know!

Four wheel drive allows you to get stuck
in places even more inaccessible.
