Default Old Vs New

A Video of my Old Rangie and a New D3 up the same track. Both had rear lockers. D3 had traction control as well. The old girl still holds her own.

At least if your truck had suffered damage it would've been cheap and easy to fix, probably on the trail with a few tools, a beer and some harsh language.

I am certainly not having a go at the D3. I have put up a previous post as how impressed I was with it.

I think if the D3 had some more tire and a driver that did not mind a few dings in the skid plates it could have gone up faster. The traction control on those new Rovers are a true wonder to behold, it always amazes me how far they can get with the shitty stock road bias tires and questionable ride height. Now, if only they could drop the sticker price to a point that I would not be terrified to take it off road! But for me, the Classic is still #1.

Cool vid. Looks like you can make it easy if you keep momentum.

Here is a video of the previous trip to that track. The different camera angles give a different prespective, also this video shows more of the track. The first 1 1/4 minutes is of a muddy track nearby, but the rest of the video is the same track as posted for this thread. The track never changes, but is was a little damp on this video. All the vehicles had double diff locks. The series landrover had 38 inch tyres and a 350 chev. The other Rangies had 35's and 4.6 V8's

Actually, It looked to me like the Rangie handled it with less effort. Driver was probably still cool and comfy while the D3 driver may have been just a bit cautious.

Funny that. I just said recently that part of why I love to wheel in the LR3 is because of the rush from being terrified of breaking it...

...I think I need help

Nice vids P76.

It is a lot more fun doing it. It is just a pity that the harder tracks are becoming more difficult to find as the forestry people keep on fixing the tracks up.

Ha, Ha, I think you send in a few of your pic's to the Land Rover mags. I have never seen any of them print a pic of a LR3 doing anything more severe than drive on a gravel road or through a puddle. (well, perhaps some of the G4 LR3s but not any feature trucks) From pics Ive seen of your Rover and what you do to it they would be amazed!
