I went up a big hill after it rained to see how well my balding MTR's do in mud
I have a 2inch RTE lift w/ Rancho shocks that have about 7inches of travel.
In the vids I have only my rear sway bar disconnected. Im pretty sure disconnecting the front would have helped me out getting up that rut. I have my rear diff lockers on btw if you dont notice my front wheels spinning like crazy and my back ones just chuggin along.
Im upgrading from 245/65's to 235/85's MTR's w/ kevlar
to be fair, i pulled a girl out of that mudhole. water got inside her truck. i also couldn't drive out of it forward. i have 33s and that mud just wasn't having it.

thats fine, but you have half a brain and aren't dumb enough to stomp it in reverse when you're getting towed. and you arent dumb enough to hit a tree because you don't know how to steer in reverse.
that sucks that she got water in that sequoia, the water definitely got deeper there last night, i went out to tuskegee after/during the rains. it was a mess with downed trees, mud, and flowing water in the road.

Wont that hurt my back wheels or do you mean just slightly braking?
I hold the brakes on then use the throttle to overcome the resistance on the difficult sections or obstacles. You're not doing it long enough generally to heat anything up too much. This is the poor-man's semi-locker or traction control.
I do have CDL and ARB's front and rear, so it's for situations when I don't have the ARB's activated.
Have you thought about a LT230 case? That and a set of tires and you would be in much better form on that mud hill.

How about not trying the same line five times, perhaps that would help?
Maybe that hill is one of those "way steeper in real life than it looks on the video" hills.
