Rovers at Uwharrie II, Weekend of July 25th Invite
Once again we are inviting any local Rovers to come out and wheel with us at the Uwharrie National Forest outside Troy, NC. Everyone is welcome, and there will be a varied mix of vehicles attending. Would be cool to see a better Rover turn out this trip, not just one. Trails range from Easy to Difficult, so there is something for everyone. Current plan is to show up the 24th (Fri), wheel the 25th (Sat), and leave the 26th (Sun). But you could also just drive up and wheel the 25th and then drive back, which most will probably do. Hope to see you on the trails.
If we can get enough people to camp out the night before we usually grill dinner that night at the campgrounds, then if anyone stays overnight on Saturday we take the short trip out to Zeno's Italian Restaurant for dinner that night. It is all based on how many people decide to camp.
If no one basically decides to camp we go with plan B. Show up Saturday morning, wheel, then go home Saturday afternoon. This is how it usually ends up because in past times we have made full weekend camping plans just for most people to show on Saturday and leave Saturday. Would be cool if we can get enough people together to camp, but nothing is for sure.
Interesting spot, but judging from the pictures not worth a 4 hour drive for me at least. If I lived out that way it might be different, now that Tellico is closed that is. So the trip is still on for those that might want to go. Like I said if worse comes to worse we will just do a day trip.
Eli, I like how you're always there makes me wish I was making enough money to get myself up there for a fun time of wheelin. I am going there for sure on August 10th which is a Monday to shoot a video of me and some guys from RoverTym having a good time in the woods! I'll be honest, right now I'm afraid I'll take my Range up there before the video and break something then be unable to enjoy wheeling my rover in front of a camera, which is pretty close to a dream come true! The guy shooting the video is a producer, so it should be pretty rad!

Trust me it wasn't always this way. Last year I wheeled the big trip in April, and then it wasn't till September that I got back out there. And my last trip a friend that was riding with paid my gas money, so it was hard to say no to an essentially free trip. I will have to spend this coming Saturday at a friends house/shop taking a look over the truck though. I am not used to wheeling the truck so much, so I have to see how its holding up. I guess I can blame part of it on having a season pass this year.
Hopefully we have a good turn out on this next trip, if not there is always August.
