Default Rovers at Uwharrie Part 2

Came back out to Uwharrie the next weekend. Didn't see any Rovers this time, but figured I would share wheeling shots anyway. Hopefully some day we can get the NC guys on here, plus my cousin in her Disco, and our group together for some wheeling at Uwharrie. Right Dante????

May 30th 2009 @ UWHARRIE

Here is how our trail run/schedule went:

Rocky Mountain Loop
Saw Mill
Slab Pile/Wolf Den (just to get out onto the road)
(LUNCH)
Falls Dam
Wolf Den
Slab Pile
Rocky Mountain Loop
(LAKE)

This also included stopping in at the Arrowhead Campgrounds to hang out/talk with Janet. She was kind enough to get us a site to eat lunch at also. The mud rut on Slab Pile turned out to be quite interesting, I was the only one to go all the way to the end of it with no aid/help. And I have the dents to prove it. I traded paint with the dirt wall also. Mark got through it with the aid of a tow strap, but he was the only other one. Was a fun day.

Attendees:

Chris - Black 2 Door Montero
Mark - Gold 2 Door Raider/Montero
Eli - Red 2 Door Raider/Montero
Roger - Green 4 Door Montero
Reuben - Red 4 Door Montero

Here are Reuben's pictures/captions:

Me doing the . That gave my t-case skid a workout :kewl: My brakes are noisy! Rotors need de-glazing or something?

Me leaning my doors against the mud wall. Eli managed to decorate the wall with his truck's paint :shiner:

Me and Roger trying to decide if I can get through..the answer was no :baby:

Roger's turn with the same result

Mark's turn and it looked look he would have to bypass it too

...but then we had an . He made it OK, but Amelia ran out of memory on the camera so she missed the final part. Mark's truck sounds like a diesel :kewl:

Chris's stock Montero did really well :kewl:

The line up. Looks like I need a Gen 1

Chris show's where I traded paint/got my dents with/from the dirt wall:

Links to my 2 Videos, 2nd video has my pictures also:

And Chris's Pictures/Captions:

Getting ready to roll out.. I think I am hiding behind mine letting the air out..

This is where Eli left some paint behind and still the others decided to give it a try

Got some flex going there.

We decided that for Mark to get through with out tipping over he needed a little help from Eli and Reubin.

Stop for a group shot

Right now we have a Meet N' Greet planned for the 20th so more than likely I wouldn't be able to make it this 20th. But July 18th or 25th would be good.

I'll try for the 20th..... I hit that mud spot with the steep wall last time I was out there, the rut catches your tire and protects the side of your truck, atlest it protected my Range, but it was a close call, fun little rut though I wanna take my Range out there real bad, my new tires are bad A and I cannot wait to rip into them!!

DRaider90.... or Eli, which ever you prefer I'm going out there during the week soon, I'll let you know.... The video we're going to make is going to be rad... Mr Range has been in the shop most of the time lately.... It's getting all done up, just might be one of the first well done P38 we'll ever see.. All thanks to RoverTym!! Those guys are awesome, and of course some sick new Interco Tires and now some nice long shocks from Rancho!!!

I have every Friday and Saturday off, so in reality I could go any date that is set for Friday/Saturday. BUT I don't have the money to be making trips all the time is the problem. Plus I have been out there 5 days all ready (4 trips) since the trails re-opened April 1st. Trust me I wish I could go out there every weekend, but money is tight with the economy right now (a friend paid my gas money last trip). The best I could do is ride with someone and play trail guide/spotter. But that is about it. We will work out something though, there are plenty of weekends left. And I am sure you will have a blast testing out the M16s if you make it out there before we can arrange a trip.

And I wouldn't worry about it Heron, Uwharrie doesn't close till December 15th. I know you're all the way in FL, but I am sure something will work out.
