Default Rovertracks Drag link.

Well i really messed up my stock drag link rock crawling at hollister weeks ago.

so I decided to get the rovertracks Drag link. It is "STOUT" and very nicely made.

It did come in black but because me and Frank from cerrones european were tweaking it to fit the TRE's the paint was chipped so I recoated it in an metallic aluminum paint. also to stand out.

so for those that are considering a HD Drag Link Rovertracks is a great option

thought I share some pictures of the stock and Rovertracks Drag Link.

the first pictures are is the stock link.

I don't have my Front bumper

I'm gonna get the Rovertracks bumper.

bottom is the Rovertracks

thought I showcase the disco too!

it is the steering rod. It's how the vehicle steers when the wheel is turned.

I posted this as a way of saying that the rovertracks Drag link is really a heavy duty Drag Link and much stronger than the factory drag link.

if wheeling in rocky terrain this is a wise investment.

I see you have a 96 Disco Awesome.

Have you replaced the one behind the axle? Those bend real easy.

that's coming next.

as well as the Bracket piece to fit the Old Man Emu steering damper in the front.

one thing that Keith at rovertracks did for me is that he welded brackets onto the Drag link itself so it will be ready for the damper to bolt right in

Ah yes of course, re-positioning to a defender set up. Are you going to leave the front open or fit a steering guard as well? I know people have their own feelings about fitting steering guards, just wondering is all.

Have to say I run stock rods all round on Eva with a steering guard, at the time it was a heck of alot cheaper than a set of HD rods. I have bent the rear track rod many many many times, never the fronts. I do travel with a spare track rod though...

Im not really recommending this but, ive seen pics of that drag link being used as a jack point. That just proves how strong that is.

Yup thats the usual way companies prove how strong they are. Wonder how long the ball joints will last if you do that on a regular basis though!!!

Haha, wow that makes me feel brilliant. I love my 96DI man. I'll have to look into some rovertracks products in the future.

I have the Rover Tracks Rear Trailing Arms that replaced the SG units that broke at the weld, leaving my right rear tire trying to eat my rear door! Jimfoo then came to the rescue with a welder and re-welded it for a limp home! Keith at Rover Tracks began work on my new custom length arms while I was still stuck on the trail!

All his stuff is very nicely done! It had to be... he was a co-driver in the Outback Challenge with an absolute maniac behind the wheel! He did eventually drop out due to mechanical issues... but not on a RT part!

That proves that you can jack your vehicle up with a floor jack on the drag link. Hitting a rock, stump etc and having the weight of the vehicle crash down on it is a different matter. It is just a stunt.
