I am looking to put 295 75/16 tires on my rover They come out to 33.4" X 11.6"
So what gearing do I need? I would exspect 4.11:1 to work but am always up for learning!!!! |

Do you need to alter the ratios, really?

You don't have a great choice in ratios unless you change to Toyota diff centres. But 4.11's restore standard gearing to 33 to 34 inch tyres. Therefore they bring back engine braking, and a bit more power.
Be warned, they place more stress on the axles and you will need to upgrade to HD axles, if you have not already done so. |

How do gears put more stress on axles???
Aaron, I would suggest you get in touch with Bill at Great Basin Rovers, there is no better person to talk to about Rover gears and or axles. Mike |

Aaron,
Don't go any more then the 4:11's. The reason being that because Rover's ring and pinion are so small that if you get up into the 4:56 range the gear teeth are not as strong and will break. I has only been in the last couple of years that the 4:11's have been reworked so they are closer to the strength of the 3:54's. Mike |
