Default What do you wear offroad?

I often dream of myself in a full camel trophy proper outfit, forever etched in time as a human ballast. Hanging off the side of a discovery, in a photo framed on my office wall. Boys can dream, and of course, so can the bank account with the prices going for camel trophy wear these days.

What do you wear when off-roading in your land rover?

I see alot of folks out in regular wear. Nice shirts and jeans. Sneakers and those horrible crocs. I got to thinking, what do other roverheads wear? I prompt this question because Im currently seeking footwear thats useable for driving, as well as being submerged in all sorts of muck. I have all sorts of other wear - shirts and pants that resemble camel trophy wear, but at a more reasonable price. North Face and Exofficio to name a few. Yes, I have a wardrobe specifically for driving my land rover off-road. I also have silly sun hats. The wife hates them. But they work like you wouldn't belive.

I recently bought a new pair of Canadian Army parade boots, used to wear those for everything, best boots in the history of ever...

Well not anymore. Turns out they changed supplier and now they get cheap knockoffs, barely waterproof and cold as hell

So back to used army fatigues or cargo pants and those large rubber boots at 25$ a pair from Canadian Tire it is!

Oh and a large floppy hat in the summer

Shorts, tee shirt, Tevas in summer for both trucks.

Gortex issue boots, base layer of poly pro, jeans or Cabellas cargo pants, black fleece, beanie, heavy coat, gloves, maybe a balaclava in the winter if in the Series.

Shorts, tee shirt, Tevas in winter in the disco.

Easy horn-dog...

First lets see the pics of you driving in a bikini.

Or the one with just the nipple tassels and furry beaver cover..

ALAK...there is nothing wrong with having attire for your offroading, and a few sun hats. AS LONG as it doesn't look like you just went out and bought them. If you wear white shoes, just make sure you jump in a few mud holes first before showing up. ha ha!

Things worn that can be easily cleaned off with the water hose is the best.

Oh yeah? I drove my old Porsche 911 naked once - wearing only a pair of PUMA driving shoes and driving gloves. But that is a completely different dimension of memory I choose to periodically forget.

Back to the topic at hand I have a really good pair of wellingtons, only I find its difficult to drive with them on. The pedals are too close together, and I usually get mud all on the underside of the dash because I have big feet. I think somekind of waterproof hiking boot is in order perhaps.

Always have a pair of Land Rover hiking boots. And depending on weather either Nautica shorts or jeans. And I never wear jeans, so they might as well be called an off-roading uniform, as I hate them. Either a LR dealer t-shirt, polo, or one of my XMI company shirts. For cover; either a LR dealer baseball cap, or my Aussie hat with one side pinned up and the other flopping down. A titanium or S.S. watch is a must. No other jewelry. And my G4 leatherman is a mandatory piece of kit.
