yes. however, it will depend upon the situation. if you are in and out, then no. if you have extremely tight doorsills...then it won't as quickly.

if you get stuck above the doorsills. you can count on it. that's just a fact.

Water will get into any 4wheeler including ours, to one extent or another.
If you have not taken all the necessary precautions, you can gather a foot or so of water inside on the floor at which point your truck will be in deep trouble.
If you want more information on how to prevent this, get back to us.

And as cool as that video is, even that Rover took on a lot of water as seen in the last 20 seconds of the video.

If you just "waterproof" the ECU, then you should be set even if water enters the cabin.

Lucky8 offers it, but I'm not sure how much it is.

Now if you're going to be doing this regularly, then you might as well remove the carpet b/c it's gonna get stinky.

If that truck was a diesel with the snorkel, it probably fared okay. I can speak from personal experience that stalled Discovery's don't like deep water.

Can you read? Yes water will get in your disco. If you get stuck water will short your ECU and you will need someone to tow you home.

The only thing a TUM Wolf and a Discovery have in common, is the makers name. There was a good artical on their ability to drive, submerged to the drivers chest, but they do give them a pretty thorough flush after manuvers. They are deliberately not watertight, because the truck would be too bouyant, preventing good traction.

A 1996 Disco with the ECU located in the right rear corner of the engine bay is a disaster waiting for you to go wading. The ECU's case will doubtless be rusted and not waterproof. In fact, pull it out and you'll probably already find corrosion having it's main course.

Wading looks like fun, and a normal fording, up to the center of the wheels, in fresh water isn't going to kill your truck, but don't go looking for problems if there's a way around. Streams passing through the quaint villages of the Midlands, Derbyshire, and the Peak District of England, often have had newer bridges built right alongside, but the oldtimers love to treat visitors to a dash. Those fords are only 8-10" deep at the most, hard and smooth bottomed also.
Never ford a stream with swift moving currents, or across uncertain bottoms, as it only takes one boulder to hang you up. (and not out to dry)
