I just drove through waterville, me. Not a lot of snow. I don't think chains will be really needed. I hear that they have gotten a lot of rain a few days after each big snowstorm. So, they have "had" tons of snow, but not too much is actually on the ground.

Army; I hope your daughter is young enough that she doesn't realize daddy doesn't know her birthday. If she's not; better be a hell of a birthday party. If she is; you better still kiss up to the mrs'. They're usually okay with us forgetting about anniversaries, and stuff. But forgetting a kids' birthday, oh boy!

As was mentioned earlier, clearing the packed snow from the underside is a high priority after leaving the trails. Bring a small plastic ice scraper and dig the snow and ice out of your wheels, off of your brakes and swivels and away from suspension components. Do this at Bruces before heading back to town. DO NOT kick the snow from your wheels or you run the risk of breaking a valve stem off, I saw it happen last year.

PS. make sure to say hello, yellow series III with a black hard top, you can't miss it.

Ok - I had heard about Winter Romp, but just found out what day it was (weekend). Now that I'm up here in Portland, I figure it would be worth it to go, even if it's just for one day.

I'm in ArmyRover's same equipment situation though, I really don't have recovery points or tow rope. I know that I could just get them from Rovers North, but where do they go? I've got BFG AT 265s, do you think they'll be ok without chains?

Obviously I'm a newb at this, but I would like yo learn. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

On monday I should be getting my hands on some of the shackles if they have a easy mount up I'll let you know and get you a couple of sets as well so give me a day or so to figure it out and let you know.

As far as the AT's being ok I'm still waiting on that answer to lol

BFG A/T's do pretty well in the snow. Air those puppy's down to 11-12 PSI and you should be fine.

The main thing is the recovery points. With those, you can get out of most any situation you could get yourself into.

Thanks! That's good to hear, I'll air them down then.

Right now I'm looking to get them from Rovers North. Army Rover is going to install them first. Does anyone have a pic of how they mount? I can figure it out from there, but having a difficult time picturing the way they mount.

No problem. They're a great solution until/if you decide to get a heavier bumper.
