Default A bizzare day at work, real story not a joke lol

So yesterday, I get up as usual, put on my uniform and head to work. About 10 am there is a group of us in the hall way laughing and joking when one of the civilians comes up and gives two tickets to the Red Sox vs Twins game at 1300 at fenway to SFC G my supervisor. He races off to find his girl and go to the game. About 11 am he calls and said she couldn't go and would I like both the tickets since he doesn't want to go without her. I say sure of course I then search the building high and low for 45 min trying to find someone to go to the game with me. I even called tex to see if he could sneak out of work lol. Finally one of the civilians is in and we take off to the game.

We get to the train station and find free parking bonus

We get on the purple line train and I get a free ride since I'm in uniform, bonus

We hop on the Green line subway at North station and I get a free ride on the subway for being in uniform, bonus.

We get to the game and the seats are actually pretty good section 17 on the first base line far enough back to get the breeze and sit in the shade. About 2 innings in I'm standing in line to get food not only does the guy in front of me hand me a beer he also bought my hot dogs for me as well, bonus

We enjoy the game watching the Sox's beat the twins like a red headed step child It was my first time to Fenway and that is one cool ball park for those that have never gone I highly recommend going to a game. It's one of the last old school ball parks left and I feel it's a lot more fun enjoying the game in a traditional park over an amusement park stadium.

So the games over and we head back to the subway. Once again scoring a free ride

We get off at North Station again so we can catch the train back to our cars. All in all a great day at the office. While we're walking from the subway to the train station a Gentleman stops me thanks me for my service and hands me two tickets to the Bon Jovi concert at the garden for last night. The concert starts in 1.5 hours so I'm burning up the phone trying to get someone to go to that as well. Since my buddy from work can't make it (his wife wouldn't let him LMAO). So I end up going to the concert by myself.

My seats were in the upper balcony on the side of the stage area not great seats but who cares they were free and I'm getting to see Bon Jovi .

So I'm relaxing waiting for the concert to start and decide to take a walk around the Garden since I've never been there either and I've been sitting all day in hard ass seats lol. As I'm walking the upper level a guy in a suit with a staff badge stops me in the hall and asks how many people are in my party. I respond that I'm a Party of One (I think he missed the joke with the Army of One slogan o'well lol) He says your sitting way to far from the show you have been upgraded enjoy the concert and hands me a ticket and dissappears into the crowd.

So I look at the ticket assuming maybe I've move to see the stage a little better or down on the next level or something but the tickets a different color and the seation code didn't make sense to me so I asked one of the seater people. He tells me to head over to the elevator and show my ticket to the guy that works in there. So being a good Soldier I head over there and show him and he takes me down to the ground floor of the arena. Then another staffer takes my ticket and leads me to my seat about 100 feet from the stage on the side 2nd row. So now I'm sitting on the floor and the concert spools up. I at one point get pulled by a staffer and end up on the raised platforms next to the stage during Wanted dead or alive. A kick ass song by the way

Once again people buying me beers giving me hugs and thanking me for my service as I'm still in uniform lmao. So enjoyed a great concert had a freakin great time. Got home at 1am took my wife to the airport at 430 and now I'm half asleep finishing up my day at work

I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't been there and here's some pics from the day.

You know in the old days, I could almost hang out in bar after duty w/ my First Shirt...then yrs later it was no stopping after in duty uniform ( well some shopping was in order, if it was offpost ).
I think you made out there, Troop !

I'm almost done, still in the IRR ( 22yrs and some months chalked up .AC & Reserve). If I stay in the system until 60, the payout is a little better. Only have a few yrs left !

Good to hear folks are giving you the props for serving.

All in all still some good old fashioned patriotism from real Americans who are indebted to those who choose to serve and from the looks of it, your timing was perfect for the day.

I meant to buy a lotto ticket on the way home and totally forgot. I figured the next day the luck had worn off so I didn't bother lol.

Wow, what an amazing day! Good on ya Army, I would love to see Bon Jovi. One of the few 80's hair bands who's music and image has evolved well with the times. Bet he puts on a great show.

He put on a great show actually. I was really impressed with the energy he has at his age although Ritchie Z looks like he should have laid off the drugs a lot sooner. That dude looked old

What a grand day indeed. It gives you hope that the kind hearted still live on.

With that being said...perhaps I should buy you a lotto ticket now.

Glad you rocked it out with Bon Jovi... My sisters and I were in love with him when growing up. We use to tease our hair like nobodies business to match his. lol Wow, so glad times have changed.

The only thing that would have made your day any better is if you got Yankees/Oakland tickets!

I can't even get out of my car in uniform anymore. They just made some BS local rule saying I can't even make quick stops on the way home in my flight suit. I wish I could get free stuff, I guess it would be better if I didn't live in a military town where the locals hate us.
