What?
OK, here the real reason for this thread: Some of you may know that I have had a rough year in 2005. Poured my heart and soul into building a foster family agency with a friend only to GET sexually harassed and choosing to leave with a severance package (search “I need a job” on LRO). So I set out to work on building my own foster family agency. Well, several months of writing and one 850-page application/program statement later, I finally have my license from the grand ol’ State of Kalifornia to open my doors! From the time you turn in your application/program statement it usually takes around 8 - 12 months to get approved for a license, if at all. They reject more than they approve. I turned in my completed application/program statement on February 2 and I am now license a mere 50 days later! What is a foster family agency you say? Well, my license gives me the authority to recruit, identify, and train families to be certified foster parents under my license. I can receive referrals for placements from any county child protective services in Kalifornia. I have a list of over 20 families waiting to roll over to my agency from other agencies. I also have a list of social workers on a waiting list wanting to work for me. This is so exciting for me! I finally get to do things my way. Do things for the kids. I thought I would share my good news with my fellow rover enthusiasts since you are like a second family to me!

That's pretty neat. Too bad you're on the other side of the world, you could find me a new family, since the one I have doesn't appreciate me. I guess I'm too old to be adopted so if I could adopt a kid, provided he has his own 36 drawer Snap-On rollaround, knows how to wrench, and can put stuff back together that AAXD took apart, he's in like flint.

WTF, I was already for a nice log story and you let me down
Only messing around buddy. Steve, I think its great what you are doing. I am going to regret saying this, but to bad there are not more people out there like you that are willing to do something like you are. Kids are the most important things in this world. I know you'll do the best you can for these kids. Just one more thing, please dont bring any of the alpacas to work with you, the kids might get the wrong idea Seriously, best of luck buddy ![]()
