Just saw this ad in the Stars and Stripes.
Land Rover Defender 90 '89 184K miles. 4 X 4. 2-door. Needs minor repair work. Minor body rust. Hard top. $2500 as it. Call 01753346455 or 01601148179 after 8pm. Sounds like a good deal. Too bad I can't take it back to the states with me when I come back next year

I hate looking in the back of LRO or LRM or LRE and seeing the for sale ads.
I want to slap a copy in front of the D90/110 trailer queen owners who very proudly announce that, "It's never been off road." They talk like there were only 3 ever made and they were hand carved out of one solid piece of aluminum............go get a freak'n Excursion (no offense to XCRSION owners). applauding Defender owners on the trail............and secretly hating you until I become one![]()

As long as the government will take care of the shipping across two continents and two oceans, I'm ok. It's cost prohibitive to buy it, park it for 8 years, then pay to ship it to Hawaii. My Discovery was bought in the states so it's easy to take back, that's one of the primary reasons I have it. I don't know where I'll be by the time the Defender can be imported to the states.
