Default "Employee Pricing" at assorted dealers

Is it me or has anyone else realized that this "Employee Pricing" campaign many American car manufacturers are running are a joke?? Folks, it's end of the model year! the '06 models come out in September. EVERY year you can get a VERY good deal on that model year around this time. All they did was put a fancy advertising campaign behind it, however it is no different than what dealers have done for decades come end of the model year.

So once again, it's marketing to the rescue.

GM has been running that campaign for the past few months though and the deals are a bit better than they usually are for quite a bit longer than most years.

A report I read said the savings are averaging $96 over standard year end pricing... so it's not that much more.

I wonder if GM will give you the "Employee" turnaround on your recalled Truck/SUV?

You are correct. My buddy just bought a 2005 Z71 Tahoe back in april and he got 10,000 off with the employee discount. The vehicle price was $58,000 loaded and he left with it at $48,000. His uncle also works there but if they are advertising it then it should be about the same thing as what he paid......But i highly doubt it.

I have two family members that work at GM so I get the discount and well I have to say that it depends on the vehicle but I think that Serg may be right that if you wait till the model year end you can get a price close to that any how

my girlfriends dad works for ford. I was talking to him about this the other day and he told me that you will save money if you refuse the discount and haggle yourself. It does matter on wht car you want, but he said if you haggle you'll save an average of $5-700 off then if you just went with the straight discount... not sure if this is the same with the other american makers
