Default Everybodys other hobbies

Ok, besides working on our Rovers, what does everybody else do for summer and winter hobbies? During the winter I have a nice small Marklin HO train layout that I work on. Summer is hobbies besides four wheelin is my antique custom John Deere 112 diesel gargen tractor. Was originaly a gas powered model and when the motor went south, I repowered it with a single cylinder air cooled diesel. Cheers Mike

Hobbies... I have way to many. To keep the list fairly short, in the winter it's mountaineering, ice climbing, skiing/snowboarding (i do both). In the spring, it's usually wrenching and welding to get everything ready and built for the summer. Getting Bikes, Cars, and anything else that needs to be done ready so when summer hits I can just hit the road. In the summer, I'm going to be trying kayaking this summer for the first time, hiking, biking, pretty much anything outside. In the fall It's hunting. Other than being outside i play around with computers a bit. I've built quite a few.

You lucky SOB...I wanted to go into the avaiation industry, but I screwed around too much in HS. Aerospace Engineering was what i was interested in. So do you work on Airbuses (that is a 330 in your pics right?) only or is your job more engine-model specific?

I wish I had a job that paid half what you probably make. Here in Erie, PA, unless you know someone high up at the local GE plant or are a Dr or a lawyer then your stuck living paycheck to paycheck with very little spending money. We have a car repair savings account that we build up to cover major repairs. Most of my model trains and tractor fun comes from being able to repair them, and doing a little repair work on the side. I hope once I have some time in here at this nursing home as a maintance asst. That I can get on with one of the local big hospitals and make much better money. I will have to get some fresh pics of the Deere. I have the motor painted to match the tractor, painted the rear rims proper JD yellow. I have custom decals to install and rubber grip mats on the foot rests once warmer weather arrives and I can finish up the paint restoration. I would love to get on with the local airport in grounds keeping ect. Cheers Mike and Michele T

Dont kid yourself mike

the more you make the more you spend.
then your in the same cycle trying to afford all the possessions you aquire while the money is good.
Its a vicious cycle.
A very welathy friend of mine sold all his possessions, multi million house, cars boats and decided to sell pottery he paints himself.
hes never been happier, no insurance on 20 vehicals, no large payments
you get the picture.

my fantasy is to retire a simple life in Africa on a small ranch with chickens ,goats, leopards in my yard.
and my trusty rifle of course.
