He is a why we need to kick foreigners out of this country. And this is a true story!!
I am currently working at a local hotel here in Waikiki. Most of my co-workers are from the Philippines. I am the minority at the hotel. As I was in the break room I asked one of my co-workers if I could read the comics section from last Sundays news paper. And she said why do you want to read the comics. I told her that I have been working on my taxes and I need something funny in my life. Another woman asked why the taxes where getting me down. I told her that I will owe the government close to $15,000.00 for inheritance, state and federal tax. The bitch had the never to say "Good you need to pay more taxes so the government can give me more money so I can send more money back to my kids in the Philippines" If it was not for a room full of Filipinos. I would have stomped the bitch to the point they would have had to use a DNA sample to figure out what the bloody mess was on the floor. The real bitch of this all is that we have the same illegal immigration problem here in Hawaii as California has with the Mexicans, but nobody here takes note of it! We saved the Philippines from Japan in WW2 and they did nothing to help their own country. They kicked the US military out of their country, and yet when the volcano blew up. They wanted the US back. They where the first country to pull their troops out of the Iraq war. And yet they have the worst terrorism problem in the Pacific Rim. Would it be wrong to just nuke the place? |

This sounds like how if I was a comedian, my brother's a doctor, and my sister's and attorney, and how I hate Thanksgiving. LOL

Sad to hear that you work with at least a few idiots, I know many Filipinos since in all openness I married one. I assure you the majority are hard working people just try to make a living and send some money home to support their loved ones, in a very messed up country. Average income there is $2k per year with no social infrastructure to help pick you up if you fall down. I hope you can find it in your heart to loose the anger and pay your taxes with pride I'm always saddened to see someone show such classic ugly American attitude over such an act of stupidity. You wonder why the world hates us? Your kind of reaction is why. Every Filipino, especially the older ones, I know is grateful to the US rescuing them from the Japanese, about 50000 died fighting them so I don't think it's really fair to say they did nothing bearing in mind that's about 10x the US casualties.

Is Hawaii really a state? How far is it again from the "mainland"?
What's the status on Puerto Rico? Any news from Taiwan? Anyone? What plans do the chinese have for invading and capturing this piece of land? It seems I have fallen asleep and my village newspaper has gone bankrupt......

Illegal emigrants are defiantly a problem and I think the government should do a better job of tracking them and making them pay taxes. I also don't agree that Illegals should get free health care and other benefits while hardworking tax payers can't afford it. But that does not change the fact that everybody in this country other then the Native American Indians (including Hawaiians and Eskimos) are foreigners here.

Hhhmm, when my ancestors got off the boat during the potato famine, they were foreigners in America. But at some point over the last 150 some odd years I think I've lost the status of "foreign." Now that my family has over a century under the ole belt, and I'm comfortable in my status as native.
Bird, I share your frustration, though I don't have an experience like yours to relate. It just burns my ass to have poeple immigrate to this country (both legally and illegally) for the purpose of living off the welfare state whilst sending all of the money they earn back to whatever third world nation they come from. If they want to come here, assimilate themselves into our culture and live the American Dream then I have nothing but respect for that. If they want to come here, receive wlefare, food stamps, medicade, HUD and all of the other safety net services whilst sending money back to an underdeveloped nation to support la familia, that irritates me. Besides, if the Phillipines wanted to have all of the social services that are available here they should have never worked to become an independent country.
