Default Found my next truck

Well folks, I think I found my next truck. I'm going to look at an 83 3 door 110 tomorrow. 3.5V8, dual Strombergs, LT95 and big mud terrains. Needs some bulkhead work but I may have found a 110 bulkhead to go with it. If I do buy it tomorrow, expect my 97 XD to come up in the for sale section soon after.

I'm headin out to NJ in a few minutes to check the 110 out. I hope its worth the 6 hour total drive to see this thing. I'll post pics when I get home this afternoon. Anyone know any car haulers who can haul a 110 from south of NYC to northern CT for relatively cheap? Well, Off I go...

Don't know any car haulers in the area, is the 110 running? Why not drive it back (if it runs)? Is the 110 in Summerset, NJ? If you need any help just call us, we might be able to give you a hand.

Well, aside from having good music to listen to on the road, and the guy who owns the 110 being really nice, the rest of my trip sucked. I nearly got in 2 accidents, almost beat up a guy at a toll booth and the truck turned out to be a basket case. I guess I can't complain, you gotta look at ten crappy rovers before you find 1 good one, at least thats the way it has always been for me. The frame was rotton in all the usual areas, and even some areas where rover frames never go bad, like the rear A frame crossmember. Even the frame rail itself was beyond repair. The motor sounded like it was on its last legs and wouldn't rev above idle and died mysteriously several times. The front control arm mounts on the chassis would've snapped off had I hit any big bumps and the wiring was very dodgy. (smoke coming from the steering column while it was running) I felt bad for the guy because he said it used to be in really nice condition and I don't doubt it because the body was in beautiful shape, he just didn't have time for it anymore. I guess it would be a good buy for a total resto but not what I was looking for. He lived near the ocean, and used it on the beach a lot so that helped kill the steel parts. Here's a few pics of the nasty spots

Sorry to hear it wasn't in good condition. Would you mind passing on the info if you are not interested in it? Thanks.

AAXD...sorry that it turned out as a dissapointment. I was looking forward to some 110 pics.
Good luck on your future search.
