Was driving home after dropping my daughter off at school this morning, clicked the radio over to one of the rock stations here in Dallas..... (The "Bone"....for real that's the name), and on came Judas Priest....had to circle the block a few times to hear the song.....
My kids all think I am a freak. So, what are your favorite driving bands/songs? Guns & Roses? The Crue? Rap Can't do it.......Country? Classical? Jazz? Whatever....................

I mostly listen to classical music, there's so much variety...well, that and pipe music...
I used to be into the whole 60's rock thing, Beatles, Byrds, CCR, CSN etc...a little Floyd. I had a roomate in college who was into the metal thing, never really my thing, but some of it wasn't too bad... When I lived in Russia I was really into Akvarium... Recently, I've been checking out what I guess you would call "world music"...ie, music not from the American Entertainment/Industrial complex...There's some really good music out there...Cesaria Evoria (sp?), Mabulu are some current favorites...also some celtic rock I guess you would call it, especially the Battlefield Band...good stuff... Great thread! I've taken longer ways home to listen to the end of a song as well
![]() I listen to anything but rap, country, boy bands or P Diddy . Been through all the "phases" starting with Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Journey, Scorpions, The cure, Morrisey, Smiths, R.E.M., Oingo Boingo, Joy Division, blah, blah, blah... They all take me back I'm looking to get XM radio so i can have the variety I need Best of Scorpions is the one loaded in the 6 disc that NEVER gets removed And can't forget Cash as well (RIP)

driving music... depends on the mood and where i am. in the AM on the way to work i'll listen to just about anything in order to stay awake. on the way home i usually listen to the classic rock station we have cuz they play Zepelin at that hour. when i'm in WY i listen to country (i have to, it doesn't feel right to listen to anything else when you're going fishing and driving the backroads with a beer in your hand).
specific favs are linkin park, ACDC, Green Day, VH, James Taylor, Jane's Addiction, anything by Dave Grohl, Alice in Chains, STP, Gypsy Kings, Nickelback, Def Leppard, Men at Work, Chaka Demus and last but not least THE BEASTIES. gotta get me some sirius... |
