Default How Many Hams Out There?

Are you HF mobile? Tell us about your antennas, rigs, installations, etc.
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Collins lover, but they're just too big for mobile, so I have my token rice box in the Defender 110, an Alinco DX-70H, High Sierra screwdriver mounted to the roof ladder, and had a Ten Tec Hercules (Yes, I have two Batteries) but the Screwdriver can't handle it.
Any interest in an informal net? Pick a band.
Cheers, Happy New Year and 73s, Terry (K1EBS)

WD4KIB here.

I use 2-meter from the truck, HF, CW-mode from home ...sometimes. I don't use the 2m for chatting as I am really a CW guy and don't do that much, but I do use the 2m rig when I am a volunteer rally marshal. We provide all the communications for road rally. And as rally stages are really spread out over a large area, the FRS radios are not effective. The hams are.

regards,

rick / wd4kib

It's better quality than CB. Around here we need a qualification and licence. You can build and muck about with your kit and users tend to follow procedures.
The down side is the kit costs more.
