Default How PERFECT is that new M5 eh?

Serg, this one's for you so when you get a chance post up because I know you're a previous M3 owner and would like to hear your opinion.

GEEZE that thing is amazing!...Its PERFECT. This statement can be true you know. Luxury Mid-sized Sedan + V10 + Whatever the hek that trans is + BMW badge = PERFECTION!!! That thing is Beautiful too! I can't wait to see the retail on that and the size of the waiting list. The last M5 had 6-8 month waiting lists

Well I don't mean to dissapoint you... but you had to ask..

I hate it.. I mean I love all the power that thing has, but the styling is horrid.. Chris Bangle ruined the 7 series and the Z4... this thing is horrid looking. I actually considred buying a current model M5 before I sold the M3. I have had 4 BMW's myself, (1978 530i, 1978 320i, 1988 535is and 1998 M3) all wonderful cars. A past girlfriend had a 1995 530i and a 2000 323i. The girl I am dating now has a 1999 M3 convertible. My parents have had: 1988 535is, 1990 318i, 1990 735i, 1994 325i, 1994 740i, 1998 325i, 1998 740il, and a 2005 X5. So I have a bit of experience with BMW's...

Anyhow, I love BMW's... LOVE THEM!!! Only reason I sold the M3 was that I was driving the Rangie to work every day and drove the M3 maybe twice a week. I was still making payments on it and I felt it was a waste of that fine car. I have modified my last 2 BMW's quite a bit. They all worked great and never left me stranded.

However the current models leave me wanting.. alot! I don't want I-drive, active this, active that (I disabled the traction control on my M3) I want what BMW's USED to be... FUN to drive! Now, they are gadget laiden luxobarges... The outgoing 3 Series (E46) and the outgoing 5 series (E39) are great. I just don't think I would consider any new BMW other than the incoming 3 series and the X5.

Oy.... better get off my soap box!!

Serg
