Well deployment time has come for me. I'll use the thread as a bit of a chronicle of the 13 month adventure.
I start picking up the Soldiers of my unit from the Airport tomorrow morning. I love playing taxi driver. After we get accountability of everyone it’s time for the lockdown to begin….
On Friday we have our Hail and Farewell ceremony at 1000 hrs. The local American Legion, USO, Catholic Church and Illinois State Representative Karen May will be there to lend support and say a few words to the unit before we head off. At the completion of the ceremony myself and a few others head straight to the Airport.
I will update this thread as I can with how we’re doing and what’s going on as best I can over the next 13 months of this adventure. I’m sure I will have internet access on occasion so I’ll pop in and see how you all have been and fill you in.
So everyone crack a beer for us and enjoy. Oh yeah and off-road those rovers since I won’t be able to for awhile.
Take care…..
