Question Letter from Land Rover / Boshart Engineering, anyone else?

Today I got a letter from Land Rover, about in-use vehicle emissions testing by Boshart Engineering. They want to test my vehicles emissions control system, and if it needs adjustment or repair, they will repair it FREE-of-CHARGE. And they are offering either: $300, use of a current model Land Rover, thorough cleaning of my vehicle, and they will pick it up at my home.(option 1) Or $850, my vehicle cleaned, and pick up at my home. (option 2) Did anyone else get this letter in the mail?
It is on Land Rover stationary, in a Land Rover envelope, etc..
Sounds like a good way to get things fixed if needed.

Sounds like a good scam to steal your car... Id call your local dealer to verify before you buy the Brooklyn Bridge

Thumbs up

If I get selected, I was going to take option 1, because I'll have their truck if they disappear with mine.
I have access to L.E.I.N. (Law Enforcement Info Network) to check the vin on the vehicle they bring to me, so, I'm not too worried. I called LRNA and Boshart, it's legit. LRNA is testing vehicles of different ages/mileages to see how the emissions control systems are functioning (probably to see if they are going to have problems with EPA). Was unable to get anyone to tell me what the criteria for selecting will be. I only have 49000 miles on my 2004 DII, so hopefully it will fit into their criteria. Thanks for your response, I had the same thoughts, and wanted to see if I was just being too cynical(job hazard). DSent the info sheet back to Boshart today 9/30/09.
